Eligibility Criteria for Sathyavani Muthu Ammaiyar Scheme
First, this is a government scheme. As I mentioned, in memory of Sathyavani Muthu Ammaiyar, a sewing machine worth ₹15,000 is being provided to women so that they can earn a good income from home. This scheme is exclusively for women. Men cannot apply for this. However, if you are a disabled man, you can definitely apply for this scheme. Transgender individuals can also apply for and receive this; there are no issues with that.
What are the eligibility criteria for applying for this scheme?
- First, you must be a native of Tamil Nadu; you must be a woman from Tamil Nadu.
- Next, your age should be between 20 and 40 years.
- Similarly, your family’s annual income should be less than ₹72,000.
- Similarly, there is no last date to apply for this scheme. You can apply anytime.
- However, the distribution will be done only once a year.
- The distribution of sewing machines happens only once a year.
- If you have already joined last year and received a free sewing machine worth Rs. 15,000, you cannot apply again.
- If there are four women in your family, all four cannot apply; only one person can apply.
- Also, you should have completed at least a six-month course in tailoring. You should have some knowledge of tailoring.
Documents Required to Apply for a Free Sewing Machine.
If you have all these qualifications, then the documents you need to apply for this are
- An Aadhaar card is required.
- A ration card is required.
- An income certificate is required.
- In addition, caste certificates are required.
- Similarly, you would have attended a tailoring class, right? You will need the certificate for that as well. If you have all these documents, you are eligible to apply for this free tailoring machine worth Rs. 15,000.
Step‑by‑Step Guide to TN e‑Sevai Application
This is a scheme that you cannot apply for offline. You can only apply for it online. You can apply on a website called TN e-Sevai. If you go to that website, on the right side, you will see ‘Login,’ and below that, two options will be given: ‘Department Login’ and ‘User Login.’ Go to ‘User Login,’ and after you enter your email ID, password, and the OTP, you will find many different services.
Among them, there will be an option called ‘Social Welfare.’ If you click on it, many categories and subsidies offered under them will appear. There, you will find an option called ‘Application for Sathiyavani Muthu Ammaiyar Ninaivu Free Supply of Sewing Machine.‘ If you click on it, you will see the supporting documents and the service description, which includes all the eligibility criteria I mentioned earlier.
- A family income certificate is required.
- Age Certificate.
- Aadhaar Card.
- Address Proof.
- Aadhaar Card.
- If you are a widow or a differently abled candidate, you will need the relevant certificate.
- The applicant’s photo is required.
If you have all of these, under “How to Apply,” there will be a “Proceed” option. If you click on it, you will see “Apply for CAN Registration” and “Registration CAN.” Below that, it will say “Applicant CAN Number.” If you have already registered, for example, if you are applying for any scheme, you need to create your profile. If you already have a profile for this, you can directly enter the CAN number and proceed. Otherwise, if you click on the “Register CAN” option above, they will clearly ask for all your data and documents. Only after you fill in all of that will you be able to proceed to the next steps.
For whomever you want to apply for this sewing machine, you need to obtain their CAN number and all the details requested beforehand. After providing all the details, before filling in the CAN number, a section asking for documents will appear. After you check that all the information you have already provided is correct, below you will see “Member Details” and “Reason for Requesting Sewing Machine.” There will be many options there, such as whether you are a widow, etc.,
which you must fill out. Again, on the right side, they will ask for your annual income; you must fill that in as well. They will ask, “Do you know tailoring?” You must know tailoring to apply for this; you should select “Yes” next to that. They will ask, “Has your family received a sewing machine previously? ” You will only be eligible if your family has not received one before.
Application Fee and Submission Details
Next, they ask, “Are you a differently abled person?” If you are a person with a disability, select “Yes”; otherwise, you don’t need to select anything. Next to that, they ask for the National/State ID card number. After you fill in all this information correctly, there will be a checkbox at the bottom. Check that box and click “Submit.” Then, it will ask for all the documents you had previously submitted:
- Family Income Certificate.
- Age Certificate.
- Aadhaar Card.
- A certificate showing the applicant has knowledge in tailoring.
- That is, they will ask for a certificate proving that you have attended tailoring classes.
- Address proof. That is, you can provide either a ration card or a voter ID as a document.
If they have asked for the Aadhaar card twice, you can insert it twice in that section; there’s no problem. Below that, if you are a deserted widow, you need to provide the relevant certificate. The applicant’s photo. After you have provided all of these, they will ask for “Select Document” below, followed by Document Number, Add Photo, and Upload. That is, after you have provided the necessary documents, you will see “Select” below.
Click on “Select,” and you will see what documents are required, whether it’s a photo or an Aadhaar card. Next to that, they will ask for a document number. If you click on “1” in the document number field, you will see “Add Upload” on the left side. Click on “Add,” and your folders will open. Select the photo if you are uploading a photo, or the Aadhaar card if it’s the Aadhaar card. After adding all the required certificates and photos correctly, click on “Upload,” and it will be uploaded.
So, you will be asked for a total of six documents. After submitting those six documents, the ‘Make Payment’ option is there because if you click on it, you will be charged 60 rupees. To apply for this, you will be charged a minimum fee of 60 rupees. Once you make the payment and pay the 60 rupees, you will receive a message saying “Submitted Application,” and you will also receive your application number. Take a printout of it. After that, you will receive a receipt; download it and keep it safe.
This will go to the government, and the government officials will check everything thoroughly. After checking and verifying that all the documents you have provided are correct, they will consider it based on seniority. If you apply today, someone else might have applied four days ago, right? So, those who applied before you will be given priority.
When your turn comes according to seniority, you will be given the sewing machine worth 15,000 rupees. This is not a scheme that is given daily throughout the year; it is given only once a year.
