The Best Offline Music Player: Oto Music
First, before looking at good online players, let’s look at some good offline players. So, my personal preference is an app called Oto Music. I have provided the link for this app below, so be sure to check it out. The interface of this app is very, very good. All the shortcuts are at the bottom: Home, Albums, Songs, Playlists, and Artists—everything is provided. The interface of this app is very easy for us to use. This app is completely free; we won’t get any ads. If you want a good offline music player, check out this app.
Every device comes with a default music player app. If that’s perfect for you, and you’re happy with it, then stick with it. So, there’s no need to install an extra app like this. Only use this app if you don’t like the app that comes with your phone. Here, try to use songs that are at least 320 KBPS. Most MP3 files support up to 320 KBPS. (File size) If you download 190 KBPS songs thinking the file size is smaller, the song’s details won’t be that good. Try to listen to 320 KBPS songs whenever possible. So, the Audio Music Player is quite good; check it out.
Okay, next, let’s see who the best online player is. One advantage of this online player is that we don’t need to store the files on our device. I have about 8 GB of MP3 files in total. I used to keep all of them on my device. Since we mostly listen to songs online, we don’t use the offline songs much. So, I moved everything to my computer and don’t keep anything on my phone. I use that space for other files or documents. So, this is a major advantage of online players.
Offline music players also have some advantages. Suppose you are going to an area where there is no network coverage, you won’t be able to use an online music player. In such times, offline music comes in handy. If your daily data limit is only 1.5 GB or 2 GB, and you don’t want to waste that much data on songs, then an offline music player is the best option for you. So, both have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I prefer online. The music experience is very, very comfortable.
Best Free Online Streaming: Vi Music & Vi Tunes
Okay, the most common alternative to Spotify that everyone suggests is the VI Music player. But this app doesn’t work properly for us. It gives us an error saying that it’s unable to play the song. So we couldn’t solve that error. If that app doesn’t work for you, there’s another app called VI Tunes. That app works perfectly for us. VI Tunes works exactly like the VI Music player app. Both are available on GitHub, so check them out. GitHub is a relatively safe website; you can download from there. So there’s no problem; check it out.
I really, really like this Vi Music player; I love the app’s interface. Just look at the interface—it looks so clean. Even Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music don’t have such a clean interface. Here in Vi Music, they’ve provided a superb interface. It’s very easy to use.
First, they have Quick Picks, then Discover, and then Songs. It shows all the songs we’ve recently played. You can also create playlists. Then there are sections for Artists, Albums, and Local. “Local” means you can import and listen to offline music, the songs you have on your device. When you play a song, look at the interface—it’s really great. At the top, you have the album art, below that the song name, and below that the artist’s name. Then there’s a large pause button, a next track button, and the media player showing the song duration.
Look at the bottom as well; it looks really great. Even Apple Music doesn’t have this kind of look; they’ve given a superb look here. If you swipe down, you can see what songs are playing next. You can play it right from there. There’s a three-dot button on the side; when you select it, it shows many options. A sleep timer is provided, so you can select the sleep timer as per your requirement. It will automatically stop after the time you select. Also, the Material UI design in this app looks really, really great. Furthermore, it’s completely ad-free; we don’t get any ads anywhere. The app is very, very great to use, so check it out.
Official Paid Apps: Spotify vs. Apple Music
If you don’t want to download it offline from some website, and you want something available on the Play Store and officially supported, then there are two great options: Spotify or Apple Music. Both have some advantages and disadvantages; let’s see what they are. Spotify’s advantage is its playlists. They provide really excellent playlists. So, when you compare it to YouTube Music or Apple Music, the playlists in Spotify are much better. That’s a big plus point for Spotify.
Also, finding songs is very easy when we search. It’s easy to find songs on YouTube Music and Spotify Music. So, there’s no problem with that. Even with a premium subscription on Spotify Music, it only supports a maximum of 320 KBPS. They don’t provide lossless songs.
This is where Apple scores. Apple Music provides you with lossless songs. Lossless songs have even more audio detail. If you’re using IEMs (In-Ear Monitors), listening to lossless songs on them will sound even better. So, Apple Music scores in this aspect. However, Apple Music has a rather mediocre playlist selection. The playlists aren’t very well organized. You have to create your own playlists.
The “Family Plan” Hack
Okay, this is how I create playlists: I go to the Spotify app, look at all the song names, and then I use the same names in Apple Music to create the playlist myself. So, this is how I’m currently using Apple Music. Okay, regarding pricing, both services have the same pricing. You just need to choose whether you want lossless songs or a good playlist. In terms of pricing, both services charge ₹120 per month. The family plan is priced at ₹180. If you pay ₹180, up to six people can join.
If we calculate 180 divided by 6, it comes to only ₹30. Each person will only have to pay ₹30. For ₹30 a month, you can listen to Spotify or Apple Music very officially, without any ad problems, and listen to songs neatly. Even if you add four people instead of six, it will only cost you ₹45. If you use the family plan, the amount will be significantly less. If you are a student, you can get an individual plan for ₹59; you can check that out too. This is my opinion.

No, I usually listen to songs online, but if you want something free, then check out Vi Music. However, it doesn’t always work correctly or properly. We also have Vi Tunes, which works reasonably well. But if you want an official app from the Play Store, then check out Spotify or Apple Music.
